When we tie our identity and self-worth to how we perform and other people's opinions, we give the game power over us. This is the devastating formula for the fear of failure. God has an identity for us that can never be stolen by a performance or scoreboard outcome. It leads to fearlessness instead of making us a slave to fear on game day.

“As believers in Jesus, you are no longer a slave, but a son (daughter); and since you are a son (daughter), God has made you also an heir.”

- Galatians 4: 7 NIV
