Nothing is as it seems. I was glad to have a new perspective that transcended the ordinary. It took me to the place of parables, a place where the supernatural settles upon the natural, revealing the true story being written.
— Golf’s Sacred Journey: The Sequel, p. 110

This month is the 10th year anniversary of the movie Seven Days in Utopia. It all started with a parable the Lord revealed to me next to a field of oats at our ranch in Utopia. I noticed a 70-year-old seed bin full of unplanted seed. The seed had been sitting imprisoned for all those years. It became the catalyst for the movie. At an upcoming retreat, I had each man take one seed and carry it to the middle of the field of oats to a campfire on a moonless night. I asked each of them to ask God what that unplanted seed represented in their life. We all spread out away from the fire and individually knelt before the King of the Universe and asked Him for the answer, then planted the seed as a symbol that we were giving God permission to bring to life the buried dream seeds in our lives. I heard the Voice clearly say to me, “I have called you to write.” I planted the seed and took it to heart. About three weeks later I saw a handwritten note posted near the cash register at the local dinner, advertising a driving range next to the cemetery in Utopia. I drove out to the worst driving range I have ever seen, hit a few balls, then heard the Voice again saying, “This is the spot, write the book.” As I sat down to write later that afternoon at the ranch, I had no outline or idea of what I was about to write. But then it happened. A story came cascading in a torrent of latent thoughts and emotions that couldn’t be stopped. I had a front-row seat to the supernatural settling upon the natural revealing the true story being written. Do you have any unplanted dream seed? If so, ask God what it is… and then be ready for a response.

I have written another book about this amazing supernatural experience that was quietly published last year. It is entitled, “Did He Make The Putt: The Question that Changed Eternity.” This book is the backstory of how the movie came to be and is better than fiction; it is better than the movie. Join me on this journey by clicking on the link below. It really is a supernatural adventure.

“For the natural realm only gives birth to things that are natural, but the spiritual realm gives birth to supernatural life!”

God is on a rescue mission. His strategy is replete with a maze of intricate moments linked together with mystic wonder that will leave you awestruck. When we accept the invitation to join Him, our individual stories create a tapestry of such beauty and awe that the hopeless begin to hope again, the weak become fearless, and the voiceless roar. Revelation is shouted throughout every backstory—the bigger story God is writing. It is the way God enters mankind.

Join Dr. Cook as he shares the awe-inspiring backstory of how this seemingly insignificant question, “Did he make the putt,” became the centerpiece to a divine rescue mission in the small village of Utopia, Texas.
