The Greatest Moment of Mental Toughness Ever
Commentary:
I have often wondered what was the greatest moment of mental toughness in the history of man. Then one morning as I was reading the Bible God showed me. It was Easter week, only Jesus knew what was about to happen. And then Jesus asked this question to himself out loud as he contemplated the horrific pain and torture of the cross that was staring him in the face.
“Now my soul is troubled and what shall I say, ‘Father save me from this hour?’ NO, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!" - John 12: 27-28
This is the moment of all moments. It changed the world. It changed eternity. And because of his “I will go to the cross” choice, it has changed me. It has made all of my difficult volitional choices more resolute, knowing they pale in comparison to the moment he willingly went to the cross for me. It’s “Good Friday” because he made the choice. Be blessed this Easter weekend.
