The US Open is a step up from normal competition; it’s in a different league. Extreme variables, unforeseen challenges, monumental decisions,” Johnny said. “The U.S. Open is about pinpoint accuracy and freedom in the chaos. To win an Open your belief roots must go deep. You will have to face adversity over and over as it tries to take you out. There can be no doubt in your mind that you belong there.

Commentary:

What is your U.S. Open? I’m not talking about overcoming a negative situation here, I’m talking about something good staring you in the face. A big goal, opportunity, milestone, dream, achievement… You see, the good and bad in life both come with enormous interference. A monumental accomplishment or holding the trophy at the end of the day requires freedom in the chaos. I was coaching a seasoned player about this yesterday. My insight for him and you is the same. The goal isn’t to win… no that is secondary because you don’t have control of that. There is a much bigger goal. And that is first and foremost to believe that you belong, and secondly to put your mind in a position to succeed over each shot. That opens the door to freedom in the chaos… and that opens the door to victory. My new book, greatness, charts the course for performing your best when it means the most. Join me as I share my 40-year journey of helping performers in sport, business, and life rise to the occasion when they were facing their “U.S. Opens.”

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind I steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord is the Rock eternal.”
