A Long Cup of Coffee
I have had a lot of time to reflect this past month and a half while putting One Minute in Utopia on hold. Time to get back to what is “right in front of me.” Here is what I have come up with. I love to write, I love to speak (tell stories that inspire), and Karen and I love sharing life with each other and friends that want to pursue God past anything they have known. Our plan is unfolding for each of these to happen from a single spot in the Hill Country of Texas, specifically Fredericksburg, TX.
A couple years ago we purchased 10 acres just outside of the gates of Boot Ranch Golf Club where we shot the movie. This will be our ministry retreat house where we will live, write, and host two to three couples/or guys at a time who want to encounter God at a deeper level and experience the amenities of Boot Ranch. We hope to break ground this fall.
In terms of my speaking, below is a video introducing our master-class storytelling venture to be launched in Fredericksburg. This keeps me off the road and invites attendees to come experience a unique event in a unique and inspiring location. I invite each of you to come to what I call “a long cup of coffee.” We will have several of these events each year at this cool spot in Fredericksburg, the first is this Nov. 9th.
Most importantly, I understand my emotional and mental capacity better after this time of reflection. I have had to let go of the information onslaught of our age and focus on that which God has set “right in front of me.” You are part of that. We feel that God is planting us in a beautiful spot to grow roots for a specific mission after following Him through the years and living under 21 different roofs. The adventure has been thrilling with Him, and we continue to expect new revelation and more encounters with Him as we let go of “all that entangles us” and focus on that which is “right in front of us.”
