I noticed a handwritten ad on the Lost Maples diner’s bulletin board, ‘The Links of Utopia driving range, next to the cemetery: find your game.’ The waitress mentioned that it was referred to as “Goat Ranch Country Club.

I drove out to see it. As I drove up I could see burned out fairways next to the cemetery traversing back and forth revealing the nature of the minimalist layout of the Links of Utopia course. I noticed down the dirt road about another fifty yards a small hut about the size of an old-fashioned hamburger shop. This must be the pro shop for the nine-holer. While I wanted to laugh out loud, something seemed right about the place…

I find it so interesting in life that God often uses seemingly insignificant places, people, and/or moments to reveal awe-inspiring revelation. Even though the story above is a fiction story, I stood in that exact place in Utopia, Texas when God spoke that book into being. Who would have known that Utopia would literally become the epicenter to a major movement of God.
