Take Him at His Word
“Fear is the opponent. It keeps the common man from soaring. The fear of broken dreams, failed attempts, unfulfilled expectations. Fear of missing out, being lied to, being invalidated. Fear of being insignificant, not measuring up, being left out and unlovable. Fear of being found out and the shame, guilt, and consequences of wrong decisions. Fear of what others think about us. Fear is insidious.” Johnny then said, “When I bring in a new horse, it doesn’t need to be broken. I have one purpose: to bring freedom from its fear.”
There was a day when I was fed up with fear. It was the day everything changed. It changed because I decided to take God at His Word. And when I did freedom ensued. God doesn’t break us, He frees us. His word below says that “God is love” and it also says “Perfect love drives out fear.” Put together we can say, “God drives out fear.” That is it. That is the only way to slay the dragon of fear. And all we have to do… is take God at His Word.
